I think it would be a good idea to put on the front page that XML config files are no longer in use, and the bluescreen (PAE/DEP/NX) problem has been fixed... Readers should know that many pages on the wiki were written before those important changes happened. 70.162.147.90 14:14, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion Edit

In order to install with ANY flavour of linux, why dont you arrange for the installer to put the necessary drivers in the guest image prior to first boot.

In other words, have a multiboot image of a size determined by the installing user (prompted from the installer) created with an operational version of colinux, and the ability to create/install all the necessary mods for a different guest to install on the same image.

All that you then need is the necessary patched file for each guest to be swapped into the new image, and the necessary disk devices etc to be created or linked.

Any reason that this would not work?

noudev Edit

Perhaps some of you have already noticed this, but if you upgrade to the newest Debian, KDE and most other applications as well will only work if you add "noudev" to the kernel options. It works fine now; please move this bit of info to the proper location if you feel it's useful to others. 82.139.85.20 09:15, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

I upgraded to the newest kernel driver and I had to remove "noudev" to make things work again... Very odd, how in one version it is required and in the next version (only a minor upgrade) it is prohibited. 82.139.85.20 05:53, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

From what versions you have to have "noudev" and to what version number you have upgraded? A newer kernel or changes on kernel config is no small changes for udev problems. And what distribution do you used? HenryNe 19:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
